Whimsical Portraits for Any Age

Imagine yourself 20 years from now. You have three grandbabies under the age of five. The oldest walks over and asks what you used to look like, before you had those lines all over your face. You laugh and sweetly say, “Oh honey, I used to be so glamorous before I had your daddy. Here, let me show you.” And, you pull out the portraits you had taken decades ago.

They aren’t just any old portraits either; these were exciting and maybe showed off a different side of you. Heck, maybe they even showed some skin. Gasp! You smile and think back to that very day you played dress-up. Instantly, the images take you to that moment in time.

The grandchild laughs and says “That isn’t you.” But, honey, it is.

Hi, it’s me, your friendly photographer.

Wouldn’t that be fun? Pulling out a small stack of extra-special moments to show your newest family members?

Your Why

Photos are more than a piece of paper you stick inside a frame. They’re much, much more. They are a timepiece. They will take you back in time. You’ll remember the weather that day, the smell of the air, the chill or the stickiness, and maybe the mood you or the photographer were in. Perhaps you woke up that day not feeling great, and the photographer’s energy changed your mood, for the better. Or, the opposite. Ha!

You can add special touches to your session that will make the experience better. Bringing a stack of your favorite books to your session can take your photos from Blah to Ahhh! Sit on the stack or using them as a pillow will create some interest and fun.

Photos boost self-confidence and create lasting memories.

So, don’t think of getting photos taken as a “have to” task. Think of it as a “must-do” task! You need these portraits in your life. After you’re gone, your children will have them to cherish until they are gone. Then, the grandchildren will take care of your photos, and so on.

Old photo albums are always cherished.

The What

What kind of portraits should you take? Whatever kind you want.

If you want to lay in the cool summer grass while reading a book under a shady tree, do it.

If you want to wield a sword in the sky and poke the clouds, do that! Hold 2 swords, one in each hand.

If you want to wear fairy wings while dancing under the moon, I’ll need to pack extra lighting, but we can do it!

Who

Who doesn’t want their photo taken? Honestly. It’s a chance to embrace YOU and who you are. Who you want to be. Maybe, who you were.

Dear moms, stop with the “I need to lose 10lbs first”. Your kids don’t care whether or not you lose the extra pounds. They will care that they’ll have gorgeous photos of you for years, long after you’re gone.

Kids need portraits of themselves too. Nothing makes a child feel more welcomed and loved, than seeing photos of themselves in their home. Let the little ones run around at a park while I photograph them. They can play in the sand, enjoy the swings, and do cartwheels while I create lasting memories for you, and them.

Grandparents, it’s never too late to get your portraits done. When was the last time you got dressed up just for yourself? Wear something new, or your favorite outfit from a simpler time. Photos are about creating memories.

Have fun with your photos!

Photography is supposed to be fun. Getting your photo taken should be exciting. It shouldn’t feel stiff or boring. Bring fun props and grab that sparkly dress from the back of your closet. You know the one.
